Auditions for "Dead Man’s Cellphone"

AUDITIONS for Season 5: Dead Man’s Cell Phone by Sarah Ruhl and directed by John Putman.

In theatre, preparation is key, and we’re excited to announce auditions for Dead Man’s Cell Phone (Season 5). This wildly imaginative comedy explores how we memorialise the dead and how it changes us—a story of morality, redemption, and the need to connect in a tech-bewitched world.

Roles Available

• Jean (F) – A woman
• Gordon (M) – A dead man
• Mrs. Gottlieb (F) – Gordon’s mother
• Hermia (F) – Gordon’s widow
• Dwight (M) – Gordon’s brother
• Another Woman (F) – The Other Woman/The Stranger

We welcome individuals of all genders, backgrounds, and abilities to join us, both on and off the stage. Everyone is encouraged to participate and contribute to our inclusive theatre community.

We’re also seeking stage crew, lighting, and sound designers/operators.

Rehearsals

At The Basin Theatre, on evenings (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, dates TBC).

Performances

• 2nd – 12th October 2025 (Thursdays, Fridays, Saturday matinees/evenings, and Sunday matinees).
• Dress Rehearsal: 30 September.
• Preview: 2 October.
• Opening Night Sparkling Supper: 3 October.
